Iyengar Yoga with Rozz Cutler

Rozz teaches Iyengar yoga for mixed ability classes.

Rozz  qualified as an Iyengar teacher 1998 and reached Junior Intermediate level 1. She has been practicing yoga  for 20 years. Rozz‘s approach enables students to practice postures regardless of age or fitness level,  sometimes using props to assist  alignment in the postures.

Yoga with Rebecca: Hatha & Vinyasa Flow

This Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga class combines creative flow with a focus on specific postures and parts of the body. We synchronise breath with movement, build up strength, flexibility and finely tune our external and internal alignment. The class is for mixed ability but a certain level of physical fitness is advisable. It is a class in which you can choose to take it relatively easy or work up to stronger challenges, depending on how you feel on the day.

As in all my classes, this is about more than working your body – everything we practice physically in yoga is intimately informed  by an ancient, rich and fascinating  philosophy going back thousands of years  and yet more relevant today than ever. I weave aspects of this philosophy into the teaching of breathing techniques, physical postures, relaxation and meditation. Through my classes, my aim is for you to feel wonderfully stretched, spacious and strengthened, your breathing smooth and regular and with a deep sense of calm and alignment with what matters in life.

Yoga with Rebecca: Yin & Restorative Yoga

In Yin Yoga we work very close to the mat, holding poses for between 3-5 minutes so to work deep into the connective tissue (Fascia) of the body. Yin tends not to work at a muscular level although sometimes it is beneficial to introduce a little bit of muscle and movement (yang) into a Yin practice. Yin can best be understood as an embodied meditation. We have time to become very intimate with our breath and our mind and through this beautiful practice experience ever-deepening tranquility and release. Sometimes we practice Restorative Yoga using lots of cushions, bolsters, blankets to find full comfort in the posture. In these classes, we give ourselves permission to fully rest and let go, focussing particularly on calming the nervous system.

Pilates with Janet Butler

I have been teaching Pilates for 18 years and teach clinical Pilates which was developed by physiotherapists and fitness experts to rebalance the body by improving posture, muscle tone, flexibility and core stability. The slow and controlled approach can also help to relieve stress and tension, help with back problems, assist with injury rehabilitation and improve posture and body awareness. It is suitable for all ages and abilities and I have extensive training in pre-and post natal, back care and the The older adult and hip and knee replacements..
My classes on Thursday will start at 9:30 AM for an hour and include mindful meditation  to help with stress and relaxation. Private Appointments are also available and please contact me for more information.

Turn Inwards: Mindful Hatha Yoga with Sandra Tallon

Sandra lives in Bentham and has been practicing yoga for over 17 years and teaching for 9 years. She is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher and holds a BWY diploma certificate. Her teachings reflect her own personal style of yoga which is a mindful practice, promoting peace through the mindful practices of yoga, breathing and relaxation.  Her mission is to teach a style of yoga that will quieten the mind and explore the true self. She teaches six regular yoga classes per week together with the occasional yoga workshops and an annual yoga retreat. For more information on Sandra: http://www.planet-yoga.co.uk

Sandra teaches an adult yoga class suitable for all ages from sixteen onward. This is a mixed ability class and is suitable for all levels and abilities as all postures can be modified and you will never be asked to do anything that you feel uncomfortable with!

Classes begin with awareness of breath and sensations. Followed by a gentle warm-up sequence to free the joints and ease out any tight areas in the body. Then you will be guided through a series of postures to strengthen and stretch the body with the focus on breath awareness and we will finish with a guided relaxation to leave you feeling refreshed, restored and revitalised.

Yoga helps to tone and strengthen the body, remove tension and stiffness, promotes better breathing and circulation and creates a natural feeling of calmness and inner peace.

Through the practice of yoga you will develop self- awareness, self-acceptance, peace and love. Yoga is about being in the present moment, promoting peace and happiness through the mindful practices of yoga, breathing and relaxation. A tool which helps us to live happier and healthier lives.

Relaxation & Mindfulness with Janette Edwards
