Hello! My name is Annie, I am the manager and co-owner of The River Room.

As well as running the studio I am a yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator and somatic psychotherapist. I have been teaching yoga for many years and practing for even more! Yoga has been with me through every transition and supported me throughout my life. This is why I LOVE teaching.
My classes are creative, fun and accessible, flowing and relaxing. At the core of all my work is nervous system regulation which means that in all my classes we dive deeply into breath, movement and relaxation to create a connection with the body.
I always give plenty of options and encourage you to tune in to what you need from your practice- a practice in itself!

Yoga Classes:
Tuesdays: Ebb and Flow Yoga: 12.30-1.45pm
Ebb and Flow Yoga combines vinyasa style yoga and Yin that supports openness in the body and regulation in the nervous system. We work with the ebb and flow of our bodies and breath to build resilience for the ebbs and flows of life. With plenty of options, playfulness and smiles this class is suitable for all.
Wednesdays: Yin and Yang Yoga Flow: 6.15-7.45pm
Yin and Yang yoga works with the balance of restful and energising energies. In this practice we start and finish with Yin poses- poses held for a number of minutes that gradually open into the fascia (connective tissue). The Yang part of the session is a short vinyasa flow to get us moving, connecting and smiling. Suitable for all levels as we have plenty of options and props.

Fridays: Monthly Pop Up Yin Sessions : 5.30-7.00pm: £20
Once a month I host a 90minute Friday night Yin and Breathwork practice. This session is the perfect tonic for the end of the week. Yin is a gorgeous practice where we hold yoga poses, supported by props for a number of minutes. The session will be punctuated with different breathing techniques that support the nervous system to reorganise and settle you into an optimal state of balance.
Sundays: Monthly Restorative Yoga Workshop : 2.00-4.00pm: £25
Restorative Yoga is designed to support us to settle into our parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest part of our nervous system). This not only helps us to relax and destress but also can support us with connection to ourselves and others. We hold simple, yet familiar, yoga poses for extended period of times, supported by loads of props so that your body can slowly release into the poses.
